Celebrating sixteen years of anime and Japanese culture, Kumoricon is back for its biggest year yet! Gaining its namesake (kumori) from the Japanese word "cloudy", we embody everything it means to live in the Pacific Northwest and love this fandom. Stretching across generations, anime fans have gathered together for an amazing annual event, rain or shine. Returning to Portland, Oregon, we are excited to bring you another wonderful anime convention designed and operated with the fans and their devotion in mind.

Most cultures have a harvest festival and China is no exception. Zhong Qiu Jie (中秋节), the Autumn Moon Festival, has roots back to ancient times and is an important traditional Chinese holiday. Traditionally taking place on the fifteenth day of the eight month of the lunar calendar, the Autumn Moon Festival is usually on or close to the time of the “Harvest Moon” when the moon appears at its fullest during the autumnal equinox. Celebrate the Autumn Moon Festival, one of the four most important holidays on the Chinese calendar, at Lan Su Chinese Garden and enjoy cultural performances, vendors and food carts on our special Community Festival Lot outside the garden with extended hours until 9 p.m.!
The Community Festival Lot (3 - 9 p.m.) is located at NW Flanders and 3rd Ave. Admission to the Community Festival Lot is FREE. Events that take place inside the garden require Lan Su admission or membership.

The Jade International Night Market is a crucial tool to help support local small businesses in the Jade District neighborhood. The annual summer event provides a space to celebrate and recognize the diversity and culture of the communities who live and work in the Jade District and sheds light on the issues impacting a neighborhood in transition.
The 10th annual Camellia Festival and Run/Walk is located at the Chehalem Cultural Center in Newberg, Oregon.
This full day festival starts with a 5k and 10k run coordinated by Chehalem Parks and Rec., and features performances throughout the day by groups such as Unit Souzou Taiko, Lee’s Lion and Dragon Dancers, and The Oregon Koto Ensemble. Vendors from around the region sell food, crafts and jewelry connected to Pan-Asian culture. The Forecourt Tent features demonstrations and hands-on art-activities for kids. Trolley tours will give visitors a look at Newberg’s favorite historic sites. The festival is also host to the Oregon Camellia Society’s bloom show, highlighting the official Newberg city flower and its Asian origins. Plant sales will run throughout the festival, offering gardeners an opportunity to purchase unique plants and garden art. There’s something for all ages and interests!
